Dear Reader,
Sikkim Project, a bi-lingual web-journal in English and Nepali, was launched in October 2021. The idea was to create a platform for writers from our region to explore our culture, politics, environment and history. To keep knowledge free, and conversations open, we registered the web-journal under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial 4.0 International Licence.
In the last five years, Sikkim Project has published sixty-eight articles and thirteen book reviews on the Eastern Himalaya. We have provided a platform to writers from diverse backgrounds, working in a variety of formats. Going by the responses received from our readers, we feel that we have been successful in transcending geographical boundaries, and making our articles and stories from the Eastern Himalaya accessible to people across the world.
Sikkim Project is free to access, and will always be. After all, access to knowledge and information should not be a luxury.
We would like to continue being a source of free, reliable and accessible knowledge and information on the Eastern Himalaya, and are reaching out for your support. Sikkim Project is an entirely self-financed endeavour -- from paying contributors, photographers, in-house editors to web hosting and technical support.
If you can afford to do so, here is why you might consider becoming a Sikkim Project supporter today: the editors and writers put in hours of effort in research, drafting, editing and translating each article to make these original offerings available to our readers. Your support would ensure that we can continue to pay our contributors and editors, and cover other costs associated with running the website. You can support us by signing up for a small monthly payment, or making a one-time payment.
Rs.1000 — Monthly payment to be a friend of Sikkim Project.
Rs.1500 — Monthly payment to be our premium supporter.
Rs 5000 — One-time payment to be our patron.
Or any other amount
Regards
