Thank you for this thoughtful perspective. I appreciate how you highlight that addiction recovery is a complex journey requiring multiple forms of support working in harmony. Your insights on the need for true integration among all stakeholders are particularly valuable.

Hi! So, I am glad that the psychological issues are highlighted.

Often, we look at sobriety as the end goal.
However, the road for recovery is not merely sobriety but includes a lot.of inner work- psychotherapy, family therapy, supportive therapy and group therapy.
Counselling does help but again falls short of curbing the.'disease' at the root.

An integrated approcah is needed wherein each stakehdolder play their part effectively.

The lack of integration of licensed therapists, aided pharmacotherapy, rehabilitation centres in the true sense of the 'word' and the involvement of society at large is a pivotal point that needs to be addressed when one talks of 'addiction'.

I could go on and on but yes, there are many stakeholders and all of them need to play an active role in the disease that is making our community hollow.

Wonderful Dhiraj and others like him, who didn't give up! Great (and sad) article.
So many reasons to turn to drugs...cultural confusion and changes, political turmoil, relationship problems....
BUT also so many reasons to turn away, too!
