I liked how naturally the essay juxtaposes themes, feelings, and observations. As we look up and look down, read through and beyond, it creates a space wide open for our own contemplation, allowing us to consider what living with this city means to us.

The essay opens a curtain onto the city from a bunch of different angles, educates us about them, and, to its greatest credit, allows us to breathe a life of our own into it.

Good stuff.
